"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." (Colossians 2:6-7)

This month we are focusing on the habits of a lifestyle of worship. One of those habits is to remain in the Gospel. Colossians 2 exhorts us to continue to live our Christian life in the same way that we began it. We began our life in Christ not by working harder to perfect ourselves. Rather, we began our Christian life by placing our faith in the work that Jesus did on the cross. How easy it is to think the gospel brings salvation and forget that the gospel is also the foundation of our sanctification. Romans says, it is His kindness that leads us to repentance. Is there a mindset that is plaguing you or a bad habit with which you are struggling? Instead of turning quickly to “what can I do to change this?” take some time to ask, “what does the light of the gospel show me about this mindset or struggle?” Then spend some time thanking the Lord that He has given you the Spirit to overcome that mindset or that struggle. New Life, let’s remain in the gospel.
