Hello Church,
We dream of equipping for life with Jesus. One of the ways we pursue this is through life-on-life discipleship. When you hear "life-on-life discipleship," what do you think of? I think of people, whether they have been following Jesus for 50 years or 50 days, encouraging and being encouraged in following Jesus. I think of intentional conversations in which people discuss how they want to grow in following Jesus. I think of people serving alongside one another to glorify God. I think of discipleship groups talking about how scripture applies to their lives. I think of people lovingly challenging others to count the cost of following Jesus. I think of an empty nester sharing hard-earned wisdom with a new parent. I think of a college student helping a teen learn to care more about what Jesus says about them than what the world says. I think of peers confessing the ways they fall short and encouraging one another with the truths of the gospel.
In short, I think of us.
Together as a church, we have embodied life-on-life discipleship. And we can embody it more! Secure in Jesus, we can both give and receive encouragement, wisdom, and instruction in following Jesus. We follow Jesus together!
Growing with you,
