Dear Church,
At New Life, Deacons and Deaconesses are godly men and women appointed by the Elders to serve our church in specific and meaningful ways. These individuals play a vital role in supporting and strengthening our church community through their leadership and service.
Certain roles within the church — such as Fiduciary Board Member, Minister, and Benevolence Fund Team Member — require individuals to be appointed as a Deacon or Deaconess. These positions call for a high level of spiritual maturity, character, and discernment, and those serving in them must meet the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:8–12.
In addition, the Elders may appoint others to the office of Deacon or Deaconess if they meet the biblical qualifications and are serving faithfully in one or more key areas of ministry. This may include roles such as Home Group Leader, Advisory Team Member, or Sunday Service Coordinator — though other roles may also qualify.
If there is someone in the church — including yourself — whom you believe should be considered for this office, we invite you to email the pastors at emt@newlifea2.org with a brief explanation of your recommendation. As always, feel free to reach out with any questions.
“God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.” — Hebrews 6:10
New Life Church could not love and serve our congregation and surrounding community without the remarkable service of our lay leaders. We are deeply grateful for all who lead with faithfulness and humility.
God bless,
Rick Keith, on Behalf of the Elder and Minister Team
